So its like day 8 of daily driving my 1976 280z and overall the car is awesome. However, driving a classic car that demands attention is like driving two massive tits around. EVERYONE girl or guy has to look. The bad part is when a woman has nice assets most men are too chicken shit to say something so they just live their lives being looked at but rarely spoken to.

Well the opposite happens with the datsun . Everybody looks but unlike a super hot chick that will just take a poop on your self confidence and ego.. the datsun invites everyone to come tell you how they used to have one back in highschool. Its getting a little old already.

Noone ever talks about their highschool Cavalier...I guarantee you that.

I would! I've had mine since high school. Laughable for anything beyond just getting from point A to point B, but having all manual everything inside and a 5 speed, it's slightly fun for that and always reliable. My dad bought it brand new in '02 and I refuse to let it go until I have to.

I like it. Sure, every modern car is better in every way imaginable, but it's mine, I take pretty good care of it, and I like it.

I have similar reactions sometimes with my 944. Some BROS in an S-Type R rolled up to me and asked once "how much does it make" And I told them 150hp... it's not fast.

I have the opposite thing happen to me. We recently got a new guy and he went 3 days before he figured out who drove the car but in those 3 days managed to tell everyone my car is a 6 cyl and not as fast as it looks but still cool ... Pretty funny yesterday at lunch he sat across from me and started talking to another new guy about how the 6 cylinder in my car needs a turbo blah blah .. at which point I say "the datassun?" he says yes the Datsun I correct him back to datassun and I say. " I don't think it needs a turbo when it already has a ls swap 5.3 massive cam and T56 , Thanks tho. " bet he feels like a goober.

Yeah, that never stops, and will only get more frequent as they get more and more rare. Helps at car shows, though. I don't mind it, especially not if it's kids. Fun to let them take a look, see how things work, etc. The only time it's weird is when it's stalker-y, like in the grocery store lot when you're in a hurry or at the gas pump where you're kind of trapped.

Exactly. The kiddos can jump right on in and play around idc. The older guys who wanna talk about the good ole days drive me nuts . I'm 24 these are my good ole days and you're wasting my time !!! pumping gas at first was cool you know a chance for people to approach me and talk about the car but I'm already over it. It doesn't help that the 5.3 in my car with a massive cam sounds like a pro mod pulling into a gas station..

I'm 40, and every time one of those weirdos corners me while I'm trying to fill up, I feel like an 8 year old trying to dodge a skeezy pedophile. Those dudes are creepy. Agreed on the mod-attention-draw. I kept the 6, but also went with a lot of changes, including the cam, exhaust, and flattops. You're right, the noise draws a lot of people, some of whom I could do without. So far, "I gotta go, nice talkin' with ya" has worked, but I wonder when I'll run in to that one thick-headed guy who just won't get it.

I've driven away on two people still talking to me after I'm done getting gas. my gf tells me all the time I'm an asshole but I don't think they are going to pay me for my time. If that were the case I'd charge .33 cents a minute hahaha
